Nakamaru Yuichi successfully graduates from Waseda University!

On March 26th, KAT-TUN member, Nakamaru Yuichi (29) graduated from Waseda University Faculty of Human Sciences. He enrolled in the said school in April 2008.

The graduation ceremony was held in Waseda University (campus located in Shinjuku, Tokyo) at 10:00am. Nakamaru attended wearing a crested kimono in order to get his diploma. “I only realized I was graduating until I received this. I was moved. To me, at the time, graduating seemed a little impossible since I entered university 6 years after graduating high school, I was happy with just attending back then”.

Over the past few weeks Nakamaru was rumored to be dating Katase Nana (31), after being spotted together at midnight by some weekly magazine. Nakamaru flatly denied dating her, he said they just happened to grab some dinner together. Nakamaru said with a smile “I, myself thought ‘majissuka?’ (Tsuichi’s catch-phrase). We just happened to had some dinner. I am so sorry for causing trouble to Ms. Katase. We are not dating”. In addition, “Katase is a woman I can rely one, a dependable older sister. When I arrived to the set Nakayama Hideyuki told me, ‘why didn’t you invite me instead?’”, causing laughter among the reporters.

Nakamaru is the first member of the agency to graduate from Waseda University. Over the past 5 years, he has learned about welfare and what the environment has to offer while balancing work and writing his thesis, a 37,000 characters letter based on the theme “Localization of dark music”, getting the highest grade, and A+.

During this ceremony 12,000 people also graduated. Since Nakamaru took classes online in his PC at work or home he did not get to attend the campus even once, he kept complaining, “I couldn’t make any friends”.

Kamenashi Kazuya & Other Cast Members of Upcoming Movie “Ore Ore” Appear at a Promotional Event

On February 21st, KAT-TUN’s Kamenashi Kazuya appeared at a promotional event for his starring movie “Ore Ore (It’s me, It’s me).”

“Ore Ore” is based on Hoshino Tomoyuki’s award-winning novel, and it’s directed by Miki Satoshi (“Jikou Keisatsu”, “Instant Numa”).

The story revolves around an electronics retail store worker named “Nagano Hitoshi ” (Kamenashi), who becomes involved in a scam called “ore ore sagi” (* “ore ore sagi” is a kind of scam that is primarily targeted at the elderly. The scammer calls their target, pretends to be someone they know, usually their relatives, and asks for money.)

While Hitoshi goes around pretending to be other people, he finds that “me” starts multiplying, having the same face and personality. Before long, the elimination of the other “me” begins. In the movie, Kamenashi plays 33 of “me”, such as a “military enthusiast me”, “big breasted me”, and “full-body tattoo me”.

Kamenashi commented, “It was like I appeared in every single scene, and I had to memorize the whole script. It was quite a heavy experience as I can’t even bring the hard task to remembrance.” He then continued, “I was always in the middle of costume change, but I was able to utilize my fast changing clothes skills which I have built up through live concerts.”

Other than Kamenashi, the director Miki, Uchida Yuki who plays the mysterious heroine named “Sayaka”, and Kase Ryo who plays “Tajima” a sarcastic boss of Hitoshi, appeared at the event.

During the event, it was announced that Kamenashi would have to challenge himself with 33 missions until the release day. Kamenashi said while dropping his shoulders, “So you guys are driving me into a corner again.” which had Kase and Uchida taking pity on him.

“Ore Ore” is scheduled for release on May 25th, and KAT-TUN’s song “FACE to Face” has been chosen as its theme song.

The trailer of the movie can be checked on the official site (here).

Higashiyama Noriyuki Recommends Taguchi Junnosuke To Be KAT-TUN’s Leader

Last Jan 18th, Shonentai’s Higashiyama Noriyuki and KAT-TUN’s Junnosuke Taguchi had their opening night for the stage play, “NO WORDS, NO TIME ~Sora ni ochita namida~” at Globe Theater in Tokyo. A press conference followed afterwards.

The stage play is unique since it was done without dialogue but by merely focusing on dance movements, music, and drama. The audience was drawn to contemporary dances on a stage set in scenes like house, station, and company. Higashiyama and Junnosuke fused the elements of ballet and pantomime together with sound and lighting effects on a stage devoid on decorations. (as covered by Ryo Hasegawa)

“It was always been a dream to do it with Higashiyama-san,” Junno commented. “He has generosity and courage and those are necessary to become a leader of KAT-TUN,” Higashiyama commented and added, “he does his best to such an extent that he won’t lose.” Junno smiled shyly after Higashiyama’s praised and added that he’ll probably “messed-around” if he is the leader.

Aside from admiring each of their qualities, Higashiyama also admitted in being in love with Junno’s gag especially Junno’s most popular gag- “Iriguchi (entrance), Deguchi (exit), Taguchi (his name)”. In addition, the two made a gag called “Pyu-pon”, but Higashiyama refused to show it to the press saying that gag was “sealed”. On the other hand, Junno decided to do joked around while praising his senpai, “It was always been my dream so I was so nervous last night that I could not sleep a wink …uso, uso kawauso.” Higashiyama was laughing one after another gag.

NO WORDS, NO TIME ~Sora ni ochita namida~” will run until Feb 5th at Globe Theater in Tokyo and from Feb 8th to 12th at Morinimiya Piloti Hall in Osaka.
