Kuramoto Kaoru & Inoue Mizuki in Drama Special!

It has been recently announced that Johnny’s Jr. Kuramoto Kaoru & Inoue Mizuki will make a small appearance in the 7th episode of series “Ekiben Keiji Jinbo Tokunosuke” as a Monday drama special in program “Monday Golden”. Tanaka Juri appeared last year in the 6th episode of the same series and more recently, Nozawa Yuki had a leading role in a different series under the same show. Kawahara Toshiharu will be played by Inoue and Ishiguro Hayato will be played by Kuramoto.

The drama special will be aired on May 13th at 9PM on TBS.

Kamenashi Kazuya & Other Cast Members of Upcoming Movie “Ore Ore” Appear at a Promotional Event

On February 21st, KAT-TUN’s Kamenashi Kazuya appeared at a promotional event for his starring movie “Ore Ore (It’s me, It’s me).”

“Ore Ore” is based on Hoshino Tomoyuki’s award-winning novel, and it’s directed by Miki Satoshi (“Jikou Keisatsu”, “Instant Numa”).

The story revolves around an electronics retail store worker named “Nagano Hitoshi ” (Kamenashi), who becomes involved in a scam called “ore ore sagi” (* “ore ore sagi” is a kind of scam that is primarily targeted at the elderly. The scammer calls their target, pretends to be someone they know, usually their relatives, and asks for money.)

While Hitoshi goes around pretending to be other people, he finds that “me” starts multiplying, having the same face and personality. Before long, the elimination of the other “me” begins. In the movie, Kamenashi plays 33 of “me”, such as a “military enthusiast me”, “big breasted me”, and “full-body tattoo me”.

Kamenashi commented, “It was like I appeared in every single scene, and I had to memorize the whole script. It was quite a heavy experience as I can’t even bring the hard task to remembrance.” He then continued, “I was always in the middle of costume change, but I was able to utilize my fast changing clothes skills which I have built up through live concerts.”

Other than Kamenashi, the director Miki, Uchida Yuki who plays the mysterious heroine named “Sayaka”, and Kase Ryo who plays “Tajima” a sarcastic boss of Hitoshi, appeared at the event.

During the event, it was announced that Kamenashi would have to challenge himself with 33 missions until the release day. Kamenashi said while dropping his shoulders, “So you guys are driving me into a corner again.” which had Kase and Uchida taking pity on him.

“Ore Ore” is scheduled for release on May 25th, and KAT-TUN’s song “FACE to Face” has been chosen as its theme song.

Cast of ‘Kodomo Keisatsu’ Appear at Screening and Talk Session

On February 18, popular child actors Suzuki Fuku (8), Honda Miyu (8), and Sexy Zone’s Marius Yo (13) appeared at a pre-screening to celebrate the completion of their film “Kodomo Keisatsu” (opens March 20, directed by Fukuda Yuichi) at the Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo.

The film is based off of the popular drama about police detectives who transform into children.  Fuku, who plays the main character known as “Deka-cho,” stated, “I promise that Deka-cho’s characteristic masculinity and kindness are brought out in the film.”  Miyu, who plays a 30-year old female detective, revealed, “I was a bit embarrassed when we filmed the love story portion.”  This is the first film for German-born Marius and he smiled as he spoke about his fellow cast members with, “Through ‘Kodomo Keisatsu,” I have increased my circle of friends.  This is the first step I have taken since I came to Japan.”

Inagaki Goro will Play Akechi Mitsuhide in Tamamori Yuta’s Drama “Nobunaga no Chef”

On December 25th, it was revealed that SMAP member, Inagaki Goro has been casted in the role of Akechi Mitsuhide in a Friday night drama for TV Asahi “Nobunaga no Chef” which is schedule to premiere on January 11th. This drama is the first time his agency’s junior, Kis-My-Ft2 member, Tamamori Yuta will challenge a starring role in a period drama. “Akechi Mitsuhide is a fascinating person, I’m happy to be able to play this role in this particular drama”, Inagaki commented.

Akechi Mitsuhide was a samurai who lived during the Sengoku period of Feudal Japan, a general under daimyo Oda Nobunaga, who became infamous for his betrayal in 1582.

Inagaki talked about his character, “People who embrace his image will see him as ‘the man who betrayed the Lord’ and as someone who doesn’t show any good side of him, for sure. This drama as a strong part of fantasy elements and the time traveling part. I think this will be a little different but still good version of Akechi Mitsuhide”.

Recently, they filmed their first scene together in Kyoto Toei Studio. Tamamori commented, “Once again, I’m entirely nervous… . He is a big senior…. . I, because I was so nervous my voice ended up one tone too high (laugh). Since I had the first line in the scene, I noticed immediately and thought ‘Ah, yabai!’”, his heart skipped a beat.

Inagaki talked about such young junior, who has previously worked in a drama before with Nakai Masahiro, also member of SMAP, “I am probably friendlier than Nakai-kun, right??”, Tamamori replied “No, Nakai-san is also very friendly!”, after which he put some more pressure, “So, I’m friendly, right?” then he behaved like a nice senior and said, “Work hard!”.

Kansai Johnny’s Jr.’s First Crown Movie for March 2013!

On December 24th, during the final concert of “Kansai Johnny’s Jr. Xmas Concert 2012″ in Shochikuza (Osaka) it was announced that their first movie “Kansai Johnny’s Jr. no Kyoto Uzumasa Koshinkyoku!” (Directed by Katsuhide Motoki) will go on road show on March 30th, 2013.

With 2 protagonists in the story, Shigeoka Daiki (20) and Kiriyama Akito (23). In a film studio in Kyoto, some young people will try to chase their dreams while drawing the figure of a contemporary version of “Kamata Koshinkyoku“. Shigeoka commented on the appearance of actors Watanabe Ikkei, Nakamura Shido and others, “I freaked out when I read it on the script”.

Kiriyama added, “I want people who don’t know about us to see the movie!”, ”We also heard this morning that we’ll also be in charge of the theme song “NOT FINALE” and we will come up with a combined choreography. I want the audience to enjoy our presence also in screen”. Other Kansai juniors who are part of the cast include Nakama Junta, Hamanaka Bunichi, Kotaki Nozomu, Mukai Koji and Fujii Ryusei.

During the shooting of the movie back in October, they stayed in Kyoto and it is said that a group of them was sent to stay in an inn where dai-senpai Shonentai’s Higashiyama Noriyuki (46) had stayed some time ago. Nakama Junta (25) said, “While I was in some rooms I kept thinking that a star had passed over here”, he revealed to be chasing his senior’s lead.

Lewis Jesse, Change His Name + Appear on Next ‘Getsu 9′ Drama

It was announced that Johnny’s Jr.‘ Lewis Jesse (16) will be making an appearance on Fuji TV’s upcoming “Getsu 9″ drama “Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou“, and he will take this opportunity to change his name to “Jesse.”

During the interview with Sankei Sports, Jesse announced the name change, and he also revealed the reason to it. According to Jesse, Johnny Kitagawa, the president of Johnny & Associates, pointed out that “his name was long“, and after the discussion with staff members, it has been decided to change it to “Jesse.”  ”I don’t feel uncomfortable since my friends usually call me Jesse.”, he says.

Jesse’s role in the upcoming “Getsu 9″ drama will be the younger brother of the protagonist, “Shinokawa Shioriko” played by Gouriki Ayame, named “Shinokawa Fumiya”.   Unlike “Shioriko” who is shy, “Fumiya” is a sociable and bright character. Jesse said, “Since the dramas I appeared this year were all in late night time slot, I’m surprised that it’s a ‘Getsu 9′ drama. I would like to express the exact oppositeness from Gouriki-san.”

Jesse is the son of an American father and Japanese mother. He entered Johnny & Associates back in 2006, and made his drama debut with NTV’s “Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou” this year.

“Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou” will begin airing on January 14th on Fuji TV.

Kamenashi Kazuya Confesses Fighting with Members

Last Dec 3rd, KAT-TUN‘s Kamenashi Kazuya appeared on NTV‘s “Jinsei ga Kawaru Ippunkan no Fukaii Hanashi” for their “Kotoshi no kao to rekidai sutā ga seizoroi SP”. Kamenashi is currently doing promotions for his upcoming movie “Yokai Ningen Bem” this December.

Since the main topic is about fistfights/fighting, Kamenashi shared an incident involving fellow KAT-TUN member that happened in recent years.

“There being (a quarrel within the members), we were still young and we were nervous before the curtain call. Nakamaru (Yuichi) or Ueda (Tatsuya) committed a mistake while were onstage and I think that I should be following Ueda. The moment we went out from the curtain, Ueda was like, ‘What do you think you’re doing?! You should  follow!‘. To be told something like that, I was like, ‘Even it is possible for you, I can’t do it‘.

“I tried not be childish and I was like, ‘it’s all good, let’s stop it‘ and I think that Ueda got annoyed with me. Though we’re in a group, I was not thinking about the group. The next day, we got called in by the President, we were told that it is not cool to fight in work. The President held our hands (Kamenashi and Ueda) and told us to reconcile. I think it’s good that the President decided to act as an in-between with our fight.”

Yamada Ryosuke, Kindaichi’s Accomplishment “I’m So Nervous I Could Run Away”

On December 4th, Hey! Say! JUMP member, Yamada Ryosuke (19) attended a press conference in Higashishinbashi (Tokyo) announcing the beginning of NTV’s 60th Broadcasting Anniversary Campaign.

A campaign that will last a full year and starts with Yamada as top batter with the commemorative drama “Kindaichi Case Files: Hong Kong Kowloon Treasure Murder Case” (January 12th, 9PM).

To that accomplishment, Yamada commented “I’m so nervous I feel like running away” he added with a genuine smile, “I want to set a record worthy of the name of a top batter”, he vowed to captivate the audience. On the same day, the same drama will be broadcasted in North America and some parts of Asia such as Hong Kong.

Johnny’s Jr. "Lewis Jesse" to Star in NTV’s Late-Night Drama

It was announced that Johnny’s Jr.’s Lewis Jesse will be starring in the late-night drama “THE QUIZ” which will be aired on NTV. This will mark the first drama for Lewis to take the lead role.

“THE QUIZ” is based on Sugimoto Takashi’s novel, and the story revolves around 10 men and women who survived the preliminary round for a quiz show. Since the winner is supposed to receive the prize money of 100 million yen, those 10 participants get very excited. However, it all turns out to be a cruel game in which the participants get killed with every question.

Lewis commented, “I want people to think ‘Oh he can play this kind of role too.’ I want everyone to watch it with excitement.”

Along with Lewis, other Johnny’s Jr. members Hagiya Keigo and Iwamoto Hikaru will also making appearance, and other cast members includes Yamamoto Mitsuki and Yamashita Rio.

“THE QUIZ” will be aired on September 1st at 1:20 am on NTV.

Oricon Reveals Ranking of 2012 Breakthrough Actors and Actresses

2012 is coming to an end before we know it. This year, there were various up-and-coming actors and actresses who gained popularity in the entertainment industry.

Oricon recently held a poll asking 1,000 people which actors and actresses they thought had their biggest breakthrough. This year, Matsuzaka Tori and Gouriki Ayame were chosen as number 1 in the actor and actress categories respectively.
