Cast of ‘Kodomo Keisatsu’ Appear at Screening and Talk Session

On February 18, popular child actors Suzuki Fuku (8), Honda Miyu (8), and Sexy Zone’s Marius Yo (13) appeared at a pre-screening to celebrate the completion of their film “Kodomo Keisatsu” (opens March 20, directed by Fukuda Yuichi) at the Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo.

The film is based off of the popular drama about police detectives who transform into children.  Fuku, who plays the main character known as “Deka-cho,” stated, “I promise that Deka-cho’s characteristic masculinity and kindness are brought out in the film.”  Miyu, who plays a 30-year old female detective, revealed, “I was a bit embarrassed when we filmed the love story portion.”  This is the first film for German-born Marius and he smiled as he spoke about his fellow cast members with, “Through ‘Kodomo Keisatsu,” I have increased my circle of friends.  This is the first step I have taken since I came to Japan.”

Sexy Zone to appear together with SMAP for the first time!

Sexy Zone co-starred with Johnny’s Jimusho senpai, SMAP for the first time. On November 28th they participated in the recording of FujiTV’s “SMAPxSMAP” (Monday 10PM), during popular corner “Bistro SMAP”. Sato Shori (16): “Inagaki Goro-san said he would take me to grab some sushi, but I guess those were just words only”. Inagaki thrusting his calmed kouhai said, “Because you’ve been worried all this time, today I intend to be hospitable”, trying to cover up the awkward scene. In addition, they talked about episodes of Nakai Masahiro (40) with Sexy Zone’s dai-senpai Kondo Masahiko, “MATCHY-san is intimidating for sure!”, they said convinced. Episode will be broadcast on December 10th.

[Oricon Ranking] Sexy Zone’s Album “One Sexy Zone” Tops Weekly Charts and Sets 3 Consecutive Records

Released on November 14th, Sexy Zone‘s 1st album “one Sexy Zone” has sold 86,000 copies on its first week, topping 11/26 weekly sales chart. This is youngest male group to ever achieve this record with an average age of 15.4 years. Previous record holder were w-inds, who managed to achieve this with the album “w-inds.～1st message～” (November 2001) with an average age of 16.3 years.

Up until now, Sexy Zone has achieved the title of “Youngest group to debut in the first place” with their debut single “Sexy Zone” (November 2011) and also “Youngest male group to place a DVD in first place” with their DVD “Sexy Zone Arena Concer 2012″ (August 2012). Making  them record holders of 3 “youngest” titles.

This release contains all 3 previous singles; “Sexy Zone”, “Lady ダイヤモンド” and “Sexy Summerに雪が降る”. Also “Teleportation” a solo by Nakajima Kento (18) and “rouge”, a solo by Kikuchi Fuma (17). In addition Sato Shori (16) has composed the song “きみを離さない きみを離れない”, making a total of 16 tracks.

Marius Yo’s First Starring Role in Drama Spin-Off From “Kodomo Keisatsu”

On November 22nd it was revealed that youngest member of Johnny´s youngest group, Marius Yo (12) will star in a midnight drama series for the first time “Kodomo Keishi” (TBS Tuesdays 0:55/MBS Thursdays 0:55). This drama will be broadcasted from April to June of 2013, derived from the series starred by popular child actor Suzuki Fuku, “Kodomo Keisatsu”. Prompted as leading role, Marius stated, “I think I can show you all a different Hazama Seishiro from the one in ‘Kodomo Keisatsu’”.

Red Venus evil organization set a trap with special gas to make these police officers become children, trying to keep them away from their evil plans. Though the superintended acknowledged the officers investigation abilities they must still attend school and work as police officers afterwards.This story unravels a lot of mysteries  keeping most of the cast like Chief Deka (Suzuki Fuku) et al. Also in charge of the screenplay and supervision, Fukuda Yuichi who was also involved in “Kodomo Keisatsu”.

Marius, “I was surprised. Hazama Seishiro is gentle but also a  very strict and responsible person. He is such a cool character, I want to play every single cool move. My lines have increased a lot. I want to work hard and learn more and more about those difficult words”, he enthusiastically commented.

Ever since the filming of “Kodomo Keisatsu” finished, Marius has grown taller by 8~9cm in 6 months. Taller Marius said, “Staff-san noticed, they told me I looked taller and that’s better looking. I was really glad to hear that”.

Johnny Kitagawa Achieves His 3rd Guinness World Record

On November 19th it was revealed that president of the agency, Mr. Johnny Kitagawa (81) has been certified with another Guinness World Record, this time as “Most Number of Singers who have achieved the No. 1 position Produced by an Individual “, making this his third Guinness World Record. In addition, one person who has contributed to this Guinness world record, KinKi Kids’ member, Domoto Koichi (33) announced today the production of “Endless SHOCK” (Tokyo Imperial Theater).

Mr. Johnny was watching over the meeting somewhere in the building when the good news was sent. Last year he was awarded with 2 other Guinness World Records; “Most Concerts Produced by an Individual (8,419)” and “Most No.1 Singles Produced by an Individual (232)”, followed by his third, “Most Number of Singers Produced by an Individual who have achieved the No. 1 position (35)”. It was revealed also that among those artist, Domoto Koichi is included to which he commented “I’m also happy for me then”.

The presentation of the certificate was decided in November 14th when a Chairman of Guinness World Records visited Japan. After watching the commemorative production “JOHNNY’S World” (Tokyo Imperial Theater), he handed over the certificate of approval some days later. Just recently, Johnny Kitagawa had stated he wanted to set 1 or 2 more Guinness World Record, all the more reason to feel modest and happy he added, “Keeping the #1 spot is a troublesome thing but as long as they want to keep making music and becoming number one then it’s a natural thing”.

On top of this happy announcement, there’s still the grieve over the death of Mori Mitsuko (92) who passed away just recently. “I was surprised to hear she passed away. I don’t want to remember. Like family, we were really close. Even now I feel like she’s here. I think we all feel that way”.

However, to overcome this grief, Mr Johnny has decided to aim for his 4th Guinness World Record, “Michael has more than 7, right? I think is important to set new records. While defending the 3 records we have, it’s important to always keep challenging new ones”. The challenge of this 81-year-old continues.

Hey! Say! JUMP Received a Guiness Award During Johnny's World

On Nov 12th, Yamada Ryosuke, Kota Yabu, and other members of Hey!Say!JUMP, A.B.C.-Z, and Sexy Zone, who appeared in the stage production of Johnny’s World, attended the press conference after their performance at Imperial Theater, Tokyo.

Johnny’s World is the commemorative work of Johnny Kitagawa for being the recipient of Guinness World of Records for “most number of concerts produced” last year. “I feel honored to be on Johnny’s World stage that is a culmination of Johnny’s talents that Johnny-san has built,” Yamada commented. 

Yamada also feels proud from the positive response that they are receiving, “when I think about our final performance, I think there’s a lot of change from us and that we continue to evolve every day,” he added.

Johnny’s World will run until Jan 27th next year wherein talents behind Johnny’s World talents will be spending Christmas and New Year together. 

When ABC-Z’s Fumito Kawai suggested that they do Christmas exchanged gifts, Yamada then demanded that Fumito should give them (the younger ones) a  New Year’s present since Fumito is older. “Age? It should be carried-out as to who debuted first,” Fumito replied that earned laughter among the group.
